A Typical Nursery Week
A week for our Nursery children is a good balance of child initiated play and exploration as well as some adult led learning in areas like maths and phonics.
Every week the children:
- Spend 40% of their time in our outdoor areas, exploring, investigating and caring for the world around us
- Have lots of time to ‘choose’. Children access our rich enviroment and all it has to offer. This includes, painting, playdough, role play and construction
- Engage in song and story time; especially accessing books from our Nursery Core Canon
- Engage in adult led maths and phonics activities
- Have time to learn and discuss new topics together
- Share and enjoy snack and lunchtimes together
- Particpate in a music lesson every week with our specialist music teacher
